Washington, DC. With the impeachment hearings in full swing, the Cheddarheads descended on the Capitol building to save Bubba Clinton! After giving a series of newspapers interviews (including the Washington Post), we were corralled by ABC's Nightline (a serious news program) to provide our insightful views. Here follows a transcript of our aired segment. TED KOPPEL (Voiceover) Back in Washington, the impeachment debate carries on without a break. [Cut to Cheddarheads walking outside the Capitol]. In the shadow of the Capitol, two Scottish tourists with headgear denoting their allegiance to an Edinborough football team seem part bewildered, part bemused by what's happening in the halls of Congress. 1ST TOURIST (Shuggie) It seems really strange that, you know, the American people do like the President, he's popular around the world, he seems to have done good work and the politicians just say no. 2ND TOURIST (Preston) You know, to oust him for what seems to be an offense that, you know, it doesn't really affect his ability to run the country where I mean, to me, that just seems wrong. Were any wiser words ever spoken? Sadly we were sober at the time. |

The interview with ABC's Nightline or maybe it was America's Most Wanted. |

Poor Abe Lincoln. Never saw it coming .... |

White House. No sign of Bill. We didn't scare him off did we? |

Close but no cigar ... (Is it me or is the White House sloping?) |

Cheesesteaks at our new 'local' sports bar, back in Arlington, VA near the hotel. Shuggie spots that the Redskinettes are appearing here over new year. Maybe the trip is off ... |
