WORLD BOWL X - PART II (FRIDAY)

Friday started well. After maybe a couple hours sleep, ours eyes opened to the sight of Brazil v England, and after a tiring 90 minutes, the Brazilians had done it! It was so well received on German TV that they replayed the game again from start to finish and we watched a lot of that one too!

Then it was time to head to Knoten in the afternoon and get ready for the Fan Party!

Here Mel check that Roy has everything in order ...

Which was important when attempting stunts like this! A fantastic job of "legs together" by the Mad Hatter. However the abseil was only inches from the ground, which meant no visual faux pas except the odd skid mark. This wasn't the case in Barcelona 97, when the Dragons decided to have a pre-game party, which involved abseiling from a greater height and exposing oneself to the Dragons cheeries which Shuggie can attest to!

The fan party was a short bus ride away in Neuss at a place called Allrounder, which was basically a leisure center (if your leisure pursuits include beer and skiing). With a perfect sunny evening, it was a great choice to host over 1,000 NFLE fans!

There were a few casualties however. Here Shuggie seems surprised that Preston jumped off the seesaw without prior warning. Once again a brown skidmark was the punishment!

Ton enjoys better luck on the dangerous contraption! Mainly because his Trench Crew partner in crime is too busy at the bar to sit on it with him!

We would say check out their web-site, but they haven't updated it since the triple header madness!

But Shuggie picked himself up and got fired up! Why?

Because it was the return of the WOUNDED DUCKS!

The party stated to rock now!

Even with special guest vocalist - Big Harry!

Then it was time for Sausage to pepper the Thunder players (DE Bryant Shaw pictured) with some questions. Preston even let Bryant see his best Stevan Fontana impression. (Bryant blew by Stevan in Week 8 in Berlin to block a punt for a TD which was a huge play).

After some more Ducks, some cheeries and some Manny it was time to invade the stage! Sadly this was a YMCA but clearly there is some disagreement about the ordering of the letters!

And last but not least, there was the sight of kilts on skis! Well done to all who succeeded on this and cleaned their brown skidmarks with a white one!

Great party!!!
