Saturday Evening - Crashing The Castle

Our task on Saturday was to crash the official party at Auerbach castle and let the men in suits know that the Claymores were here to stay!

Of course there was still some major cheddaring to be done and we got our #1 target pretty quickly! Al and Sue Luginbill were more than obliging as you can see. Al got a wee bit carried away in fact. "You guys are the greatest" he exclaims, his voice getting more excited. "Thanks for looking after my wife in London!" I had visions of the Amsterdam vs. England game, and thought he was going to slap us in excitement! But coach Criner came along and saved us in the nick of time!

Carl Peterson, GM of the Chiefs, was very uneasy about this! He figured we were Packer backers and refused on principle at first - but we got him in the end!

The new GM of the Berlin team, Michael Lang. On Fan Day we had proposed that he call the team the Berlin Cheddar, and offered him a full range of merchandising ideas. You heard it here first!

Oliver Luck couldn't escape either. I'm surprised he hadn't arranged special securty for us after our persistent hassling of him on Fan Day!

But we were on best behaviour mostly (after being warned by front office not to flash any NFL officials and screw up our apparent safety).

In fact the whole Luck family almost got cheddared. His son was up for it, but his wee daughter who screamed in protest!

Gia (Sky Sports) had turned us down earlier in the season - one of our few knockbacks! So the punishment had to be the first double cheddaring of the season!

As we wanted a Fire victory the following day, we decided that Galen Hall needed a wee bit of Cheddar Power to ensure that result. Guess it worked!

The free beer is starting to take its toll here! Front office Fraser was still here at this stage looking for cheerleaders to be festered no doubt. Also pictured is Montse (Sitges Sack), Ralph (Fire.Pl@net) and a couple of Galaxy fans whose names escape us again!

Back from the castle and straight to the Marriot Hotel for more drinking and cheddaring. The cheddar was calling for Nick Halling and we obliged! Dick Regan however wouldn't give us another "My Way"!

The 2 Mikes, Kenny and Carlson!

And then we ran into these two Admirals hooligans (Ross and Ton) again! Then we when we decided it were high time we got to the Waldstadion to see if the BBQ's were still going. Our taxi driver droped us in the middle of nowhere so the five of us (Cheddars, Ross, Ton and Fester) were left wandering drunk around the grounds of the Waldstadion looking for signs of life. (The gates were open so we walked straight in). We ended up lurking near the stadium itself and pondering whether of not to go out on the field. This was when security in a couple of speeding cars turned up and ...

... we got ARRESTED!!!

Our lack of German meant that we were unable to explain the situation and it didn't look good! But we eventually managed to show them that a gate was still open and we hadn't broken in! So effectively we saved the World Bowl!

Ah yes, we did find the BBQ action! And take a look at that lively action! We sort of helped Mark Baker and Silka's clearing up by eating any scraps left we could find and retired to an easy chair waiting for sunrise, which would come!
